Attribute Help Text
scalenow AI Attribute help texts offer additional guidance for attributes used in work packages and projects. Once configured, these help texts are displayed when users click the question mark icon next to custom fields in projects and work packages.
This feature helps minimize errors in data entry, particularly for custom fields tailored to specific company needs. administrators to create announcements that will be displayed to users for a specified period when they log in or access the application.
Adding Attribute Help Texts
To create a help text for a custom field:
- Click the + Attribute Help Text button.
- Select the attribute or custom field you wish to explain.
- Provide a description. You can enhance this with:
- Inline images, links, or videos.
- Attachments, such as excerpts from process manuals.
- Save your changes.
Once saved, the help text will be visible across all projects. Users will see a question mark icon next to the attribute. Clicking it will display the help text description.
Editing or Deleting Attribute Help Texts
To modify or remove an existing help text:
Navigate to Administration → Work Packages → Attribute Help Texts.
- To edit, click the name of the attribute and make your changes.
- To delete, click the delete icon next to the attribute.
Where Help Texts Appear
Work Packages
Help texts for work packages appear in both the details view and full-screen view. They guide users, such as project managers, on the type of information required in specific fields.
Projects
Help texts for projects are displayed in:
- The Project Overview page.
- The Project Settings page.
These help texts assist users in understanding what information to enter into project-related fields.
